I know it doesn't guarantee a re-snap, hence "probably". When an original strap is extended the reason is usually because, at one end or the other, it has cracked or split. I wasn't doubting the fact that the work was done at Heiser. It just could have been repaired at a much later date...or not, but leather usually holds up for several years. Heiser leather goods would probably hold up for "quite" a few years.
