I guess imitation really is the highest form of flattery.

The logo on the left side of the blade reads: REECE HANDMADE.

Ken, I have noticed over the past year quite a few of these Calvin Reese (Mountain Forge) knives on ebay. They have all sold fairly quickly, some at higher than the opening price. I have not bought one but they look pretty good for a Randall copy and might make a good field knife. But alas, as you know, they are NOT RMKs.

Wouldn't buy it, but that's a very nice looking knife and sheath and appears to be well made. Nice job!

Just easier to shave without the mirror.

A customer recently pointed these out to me. On his web site he states "He has been told by some of the famous knife makers that his creations are equal to theirs in design, craftsmanship and durablity." It seems he can indeed make a nice knife, why would he choose to copy Randall? He apparently has no problem even using the Randall model names!

Model 26 Pathfinder - 8" overall, 4" blade
Model 5 Camp & Trail - 8-7/8" overall, 4-1/2" blade
Model 3 Hunter - 11" overall, 6-1/4" blade
Model 14 Attack - 12-1/2" overall, 7-3/4" blade
Model 2 Fighting Stiletto - 12" overall, 7-1/2" blade
Model 19 Bushmaster - 9-1/4" overall, 4-5/8" blade
Rick Bowles Skinner - 8-7/8" overall, 4-5/8" blade

I guess you can't improve on the best, but you can be a second rate copy cat,,,,,,,Seems sad that someone who can execute fairly well does not have an original thought. what's next Case/Buck/Strider Rick Bowles specials?? Authorized??!!! I think not! Bart RKS#132

Throughout human history there have always been original artists and craftsmen and there have always been those that copied the work of the originals. Whether it be drawings, paintings, architectural designs, statues or in this case, handmade knives, those that copied the work of the originals usually demonstrated an ample degree of talent but justifiably, in my opinion, never get much respect and such is the case here.

Calvin Reece may be a talented craftsman but I believe most will judge him on the quality of his original work which I have yet to see. Only time will tell.

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former".

Albert Einstein
