I have come to know Jim Behring and his son, James, quite well. They are a pleasure to do business with and make some of the finest knives (amongst other things) you will find anywhere! It is my hope that I am not alone. If this is the case, let's see some of your "TREEMAN KNIVES"!!
Best, Capt. Chris

Here's my favorite Treeman "USER". It's "Trout & Bird" measuring 3 7/8" in blade length. "Killer" stag handle and of course Jim's trademark multiple spacer configuration. I've never seen 2 exactly alike! The sheath is a traditional riveted "Mosher".
Best, Capt. Chris

I just received this new model from Jim Behring at Treeman knives. It is the new Recon Hunter drop point. This has the CD finish and brown canvas micarta with a left-hand pouch sheath. I really like drop points and this is no exception

I can see them as well Rex.

Here is one that James made in the Montana forge...... I have not received it yet, it's out for a sheath fitting.

Check out the humpback on this fighter.

7-1/2" blade with yellow micarta.

I think Jim and JR are the greatest! Jim is a crusty old fart - a lot like ole Billy Scagel - and don't mess with him during hunting season! Jim is a master craftsman beyond words! AND JR is a jewel - learned from the best and a SUPER guy and bladesmith! A new poppa too! They both have a big heart for the guys in uniforms!
Do I like their work???

I am also a fan of Treeman knives made by both Jim and James. I can also attest to their capability in the field. The one pictured with the S&W dressed out the deer brought down by that weapon.

Outstanding pics of beautiful blades, Guido! I do have a difficult time not carrying and cutting something with a knife that just feels so good in the hand. When I told James that after I received it his response was, "use it man!--That's what it's made for"! They look no worse for wear. I'll continue to try and improve my photo skills.

Guido, Great pair, i have one as well, for those not familiar with these they were meant to aproximate the apperance of Bo Randalls first knives that were influenced by Scagel. Notice the arrow on the sheath similar to Bo's early sheaths. Regards

Thanks Guy's for the comment's....Rob James told me that the upper clip on the 'Wood Craft' blade traditionally...is unsharpened, but he will put an edge on it if the customer ask's.....the upper clip on mine is un-sharpened.

Hey team,

I really enjoyed reading everyone's posts on this tread - great looking knives. I just received my first Treeman knife from Jim on Friday. I was thrilled when the package arrived... it’s a 3 1/8" caper with nickel silver guard, maroon spacer, and fitted with a small hippo ivory tooth handle. I hope everyone's week is off to a good start.

Thanks Hans! Picked it up from a plumber from Houston. Showed it to Mr. Behring he authenticated and offered to buy it back. I responded... not trying to offend you... but I'll think I'll hold on to it! He grinned!

Here are a few others that seem to stay on my "Favorites" side of the safe! In some situations the double sheath could be a hinderance, thus the 2 singles!

Fantastic knives guys! I really enjoy Treeman knives, thanks for sharing.

Duke -- That caper is about as useful as they come... nice tip!

Guido -- That's as early as I've scene! Beautiful example.

Steve -- Nice pair! You don't see those sheaths very often.

Thanks Steve! Jim makes some phenomenal knives. Great pair you have there, did you custom order the snake sheaths? Is that rattlesnake or copper head?

I'd like to see some more of Jim's early knives if anyone is willing to share.

Have a good Thursday,

Jay

The sheaths came w/my purchase. Rattlesnake was mentioned, but it looks mighty close to the Copperhead that I almost stepped on Thanksgiving week in Alabama. It... is now skinned on the back patio. I'm going Copperhead. I too like the early stuff... Dreaming bout dem ole day'z!

Sorry for the slow reply lots of stuff going on! Here is the pair of treeman jr. knives that James made for my daughter Samantha and I. Her's is the little Montana T&B with the clip on Mosseer. I supplied the skins and Mosser made the sheaths. Both are of master's in there fields! The hammer hunter James made for me is still my all time favorite blade!!!!

Bernie and Tune, superb Behring knives guys!

With all the talk of "pairs" in the Randall section, thought I'd share a set Jim made from fossil walrus ivory... Have a good week - Easter is around the corner,

Jay
