My friend showed me this old Randall today. I have a few questions that perhaps you can answer. 1. What Model is this? 2. Would this sheath be original to this knife? It has a Randall button but is nothing that I have seen before. 3. Would you care to place a value on it? Many thanks my Randall friends--
It’s a long time ago and this is just a distant memory of mine. I recall my old friend Dubie Baxter posting photos of some early H H Heiser holsters that looked similar to this sheath ? I’ve tried the search function but drawn a blank,I recall a photo of them strung out on a cord across the side of an old pickup truck.

Thanks for that Micheal. That’s definitely the photo I was thinking of,just wrong about the holsters. As you say Dubie had a collection of Heiser holsters and he must have posted some pictures at some time, let’s hope you can track down the pictures

I sent a couple of old Heiser holsters to Greg Gutcher years ago, and I have one now with an old S&W Model 10 in it.

Trying to get back on topic, I see no clues as to Heiser having "anything"...whatsoever...to do with this sheath. "ALL" of their leather work, including a saddle I once owned, was stamped. The entire construction looks too amateurish to be HH...in my optinion. Hope this helps, Capt. Chris PS: As referenced earlier, I still believe the strap to be RMK-supplied with the "original" sheath...CCS
