A wet stone or ceramics are certainly more forgiving on your edge, but this diamond steel will save your bacon when it is called upon to do so! Best, Capt. Of those stag handled knives, a decent percentage are ordered, as was this one, with "slabbed" sides. This option seems to fit a wide array of folks and is extremely popular. Best, Capt.
