My latest Model 2 4" Carbon blade with Westinghouse micarta handle. 1980's maybe? Johnson sheath has male snap hardware attached to boot/belt clip.

A couple of newbies (to me) both 7" blades, both have thong holes. Both blades 1" wide. One stamped on the blade flat, one not. Here's the,question ...

I don't know the answer, an argument could be made for either. I beleive it stands to reason that the difficulty of fitting the stamp on the ricasso led to blade placed stamps, then to a smaller stamp. That's my guess!

After going through a couple of books, all chain link fighters arrears stamped on the blade. So much fo my theory, huh?
