Looks like snakewood to me Eric. Here's palm (both red and black) followed by snakewood.
Best, Capt. Chris

CCS, I was told Panama Palm Wood. I can take better pics and post them. Thanks, Capt. Chris

Cross cut, I like quarter-cut Oak. Here is a 8.5-foot Victorian headboard. Big Oak trees back then.

Eric,

I have the same cut of black palm on my EDC Tri that I bought from Capt. Chris.

Beauty of a knife. Brittle wood keep in moist environment.

The wood and workmanship on that bed are awesome.

Well done David. At the rate you are going to have a mess of Randalls by Christmas.

BTW you likely can't stop at 2 RMK!!!

Seriously, nice looking knife.

2! Things have moved on a pace since then. I'm up to 2 #1-7s, a #1- 8 and a bear to go with my little bear.

Once you start asking around these things crop up and it's very difficult to say no.

I had to turn down a 70's #1-7 with a Floyd Bird sheath, and two immaculate stag handled #4's because I simply ran out of money!!

It's the Randall rabbit hole - once you go in, you don't come out. Nice get, you're off to a good start.
