OK Members:
I just received a new (oldie) Model #8...OLD STYLE. (Thanks Burnie). I also received today a new "L" series Canon lens for my Canon 5D Mk.II.
So, I figured, why not take a couple of photos of my new (old) Randall with my new lens?
Hope you like it.
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris

Would that be the Canon 100mm f/2.8 L macro lens?

I' m using the 100mm f/2.8 macro macro lens, one step down from the "L" series.

Just curious.

Nice stag and sheath.

Not even close. 24-70mm F4. No need for the 2.8 in the tent or for much else that I would/will do with it. My 24-105 "L" series is also F4.
Thanks Burnie, Capt. Chris

Captain,

That is a gorgeous knife and sheath. Whoever shaped that blade wasn't messing around.

Capt Chris,

It's a little amazing how much a one stop difference can make. Going from an f/4 to an f/2.8 can add a thousand dollars to the price tag.

My 70-200mm L is an f/4.

I need to post my little 8-4" with ivory micarta ("Old Yeller")
& crow's beak butt cap, scrimshawed by Bruce Paxton in '87.

Almost five weeks and counting for "Hotlanta".

Capt. Chris,

Great pic's; that lens makes some difference in the clarity & viewing of the knife.

Use it well!

I think that a production 1971 year.
So it was written in the old Sheath.
New sheath from the manufacturer,
which me was advised in this forum +
grinding pocket stone from the collection Rhett Stidham,
I took on ebay, perhaps from another RMK.

The knife is very handy. Steel viscous, sharpen easily,
very nice cut meat and vegetables. Blade began to darken.

The only negative - the balance of the knife strongly shifted
towards the handle (is to blame brass butt cap + lightweight blade).
The next order I will try to do little knife with lightweight handle
(no Brass or NS butt cap, only stag, wood or micarta).
