I've wanted this Buck knife since I saw the Nocona Boots advertisement in 1979. Better late than never I guess.

Black linen Micarta, aluminum hardware, 440C 7" blade - made in California, circa 1977. Fit, finish, and balance are literally perfect.

Thanks everyone. I have the same admiration for Buck as I do for Randall. Multi-generation family business, rich in history, quality products and fantastic customer service. The only difference, one is production and the other is handmade.

Sweet snag on the Buck 124! It's always nice when one can reconnect with an earlier point in life through such a delayed acquisition. (I remember well the boot ad too.)

I agree, David. Clearly, the internet and eBay has made reconnecting a lot easier.

Fighting another bout of boredom, I decided to change the theme of my 124 from a Western setting to a "wilderness invasion" setting, just by changing the props. Amazing how that works.
