OK,
As promised...I will try and "post" more often. Here's one that, just this morning (Christmas Eve morning) I got out of my stash, wiped the dust (and drool) off of it, and returned it to it's nest!
Model #12-6", Sportsman Bowie, in redwood burl.
Ho-Ho, Capt. Chris

NICE!
Scalloped collar and coolie cap work perfectly on that knife.

I'll add this one to the "wood pile" I don't have many with wooden handles...it was not the most popular material for fighters. But, this one walked up to my table at Blade and I thought it was a really neat piece. I don't know who did the checkering and inlay....it is well executed.

It's an early 90's knife i a Johnson smooth back sheath.

Thanks for posting more great knives guys

Here is an old Nordic Knives Special before the 11-3.25 became a non-catalog knife. As expected it is ironwood, but not as expected, Ron Skaggs engraving

Tune - I noticed that wood handled fighter on your web site earlier today. Interesting that you would put up a photo just now. I like the checkered handle. Can you tell what the inlay material is?

Capt. Chris,

Love the Redwood Burl with the brass hardware; great looking knife. I picked up two nice pieces of the Redwood Burl at Blade, now you have me thinking!

Tune,

Look real nice next to a 1911! Great handle checkering.

Peter,

Ron Skaggs did a superb job of engraving that one; beautiful detailing that compliments a nice piece of Ironwood. Thanks for sharing that one.

Thanks guys,

I am not sure what the inlay is..... it could be a little piece of fossil ivory. It has a grain to it and changes color across the piece.
