We had 97 buttcaps last week out of 162 knife bladelist, of those, there were 21 requested WTs...and 14 w/o buttcaps, so adding a mandatory WT to every knife with a buttcap would add considerable time that could be used in the final polishing stage.
And the last thing RMK wants to do is raise the price on an option that is only requested on 20% of the weekly orders.
This method of using the lanyard is extremely fast to apply to the hand and very secure. I use it everytime I use or hold the knife. If I am going to do extended chopping I will open the knots and put my wrist through because the 550 cord can dig into your hand after a few minutes. The first pic shows how you can hold the rear of the handle (as you can with the wrist through the knots method) and makes this 5 inch knife perform like a longer one and with more heft in front.

This is all very interesting everyone..."BUT"...(There's that word again) we have drifted into a discussion that has nothing to do with "ordering" or any other shop-related questions or problems. Please: Stay on topic in this thread as many use it as a reference. I would welcome a new topic on different usages of a wrist thong as well as other options. Thanks, in advance for your understanding. Best, Capt. Chris

Yes you can Ben. Here's a recent example (although not waxed) of my first "Capt. Chris' Camper" in bone linen with a Model "C" sheath...and this one's optioned with "NHS" (No Hone Pocket Sheath)!! Hope this helps, Capt. Chris
Is it possible to order a flanged butt cap or a flanged and scalloped butt cap on a commando shaped leather handle? If so, is there an exposed nut on the butt cap? I do not think that I have ever seen a picture of that combination.
Also, would a brass flanged butt cap heavier or lighter than a standard brass butt cap on a commando shaped? I am thinking about how it would balance a model 14 CDT or on a model 12.
