You can order a different handle shape, sawteeth, stand-alone (not NST), Nickel ,silver single or double (standard double if a #1 style). Name etching. Name plate. Different sheath. Left-hand sheath. Green micarta...Probably more.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

Thanks for the replies.

It would appear that there are limited options that apply to the model 16!

A lot of handle and end-piece (butt cap, compass, etc) options are unavailable to the "exposed tang" models, like the 16.

Rob,
That's very true..."plus" a #16, unlike a #14 or #15 is "stainless steel only" so your carbon steel blade is out as well!
Best, Capt. Chris
PS: Here's a couple of favorites from (You guessed it) The Captain's "STASH"!

One more "unlike the 14/15" note: CDT is unavailable for the 16.

Is the shop now etching the blades "A/I" when an "alternative ivory" material is used in the handle?

I saw the below knife on ebay. The listing information and photos indicate that the blade is so etched (next to the RMK stamp), and I wondered if this etching has become standard shop practice since the new ivory rules became effective on July 6, 2016?

That was many years ago when they did that Bob. Beautiful knife but way overpriced.
