Finally: The "back side" shows the fossil walrus' firestarter hole (i.e. Indian artifact).
Best, Capt. Chris
P.S. The whole "trick" to putting these, or any other Randall models, together properly is fit and finish. Had I not had the proper size material for these small gamblers, they would not have finished this well...CCS

Captain,

Was the ivory cut to different dimensions than the standard size ones for a small Gambler's handle? If so, what were the dimensions?

Dimensions for a "Small Gambler" or a "Guardian" (#24) are different and as follows:

4 1/2" Length
3/4" Thick
1 5/16" Wide

I keep this size in stock (from Gene Beal). It gives you a full-sized ivory handle for a lot less money!!
Best, Capt. Chris

The "angles" of these photos may distort the actual sizes (dimensions), but what is posted...Is correct!

This angle shows the difference in the "width" and the "thickness". Hope this helps.
Best, Capt. Chris

I am going to have to find my last piece of white micarta from the late Tom Clinton and see if those are the dimensions of what I have. I suspect I have a piece sized for a large Gambler.

Thanks,

Brian E

Attention everybody,
I have just learned (this past week) of a possible ordering problem that you may not be aware of. This regards handle material known as "G-10" or "G-3". The Randall shop has restrictions, with regards to exactly what options are allowable on this material.
Because this material is so hard and so difficult to work with, it has become necessary for the shop to eliminate some options on this material "only".These options are still available on micarta handle material. The G-10 (often sent to the shop in "Orange", but other colors are available) destroys belts and drill bits at an alarming rate.
Because of the above-mentioned reasons, along with the fact that G-10 is more labor intensive, the Randall shop will not install compasses or wrist thongs in this material. You can order a G-10 handle with a butt cap. The shop "will" install a butt cap. You can then request a wrist thong be added to your order and the shop will be able to drill the butt cap for a wrist thong.
Please keep in mind that a butt cap and a wrist thong are both "chargeable" options on micarta or G-10 handles and therefore are counted as "two" options on this knife. That would leave you with a maximum of 3 additional options, if you elect to order these "2".
I hope this is clear to everyone. If not, just post your questions here, in this thread, and I will try and answer them.
Best, Capt. Chris

Capt, This is what I want to build, but I need some help. I want a Model 23 with Stainless Blade, Green Micarta Handle, Border Patrol style, Brass End Cap rounded off, and a Wrist Lanyard. I know this is five options. What spacer options are non- chargable? I would like Brass and Red but I think I go over with the spacers. Please help.29R

Jerry,

I am almost positive (99.95%) Brass & Red Spacers is a chargeable option.
