Thanks for the Link, Tune.

So it turned out to be a little Civic Action to remove a man-eater, causing havoc with the villagers.
Personally I would have not done it any differently.
A lot safer to kill a tiger from a helicopter vs having to deal with one in the jungle.
The Tiger always wins on that deal.

Basically, again, just a unique skinning/trophy job with a Randall Knife.

A knife fighter makes an excellent target (for most hand guys) if the person with the hand gun is not taken by surprise.

A couple of links to about the 21 foot rule ie Gun/Knife "combat".

http://www.policemag.com/channel/weapons/articles/2014/09/revisiting-the-21-foot-rule.aspx

"Whether the "21-Foot Rule" is an applicable defense in an officer-involved shooting actually depends upon the facts and evidence of each case."

This video shows the difference between a surprise attack and the LEO being aware.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_KJ1R2PCMM

https://www.policeone.com/close-quarters...e-valid-Part-2/

So if the opposing soldier were taken by surprise by a "knife guy" in a specific unit possibly there would be some 'micro' basis for leaving the blood on the knife vs cleaning the blade (as a bragging point).

Personally I say BS.

21 ft rule (Lt Tule actually came up with it) is irrelevant in military. Happened a lot more than you imagine in SOG during that time frame.

go to Tunefink's site, Randall catalogs 1982, page 30 testimonials for "RKH" who actually was "RLH" then page 20.

I have spoken with at least 500 people "who were with SOG" over the last 50 years so I take most of that info with a grain of salt unless it came from a guy like Richard Meadows or Arthur Simon. Few actually do much talking (except for Plaster).

Tom V.

SOG was a long time ago and typically the only people selling SOG knives with blood on them are people looking to score some cash.

Not really, have had numerous opportunities to sell the knife over the years to include members of this board and no interest in selling.

BTW, only 157 Seals were in VN, I have met all 2000 of them too.

I served with many SOG guys over the year, but I was not one. They will not talk publicly for sure, but in house is a different story.

For example, "RLH" had a Chinese General Officer belt buckle on his wall that few saw that was taken, not given.

Was just trying to see if anyone else had heard of unmarked Randalls.

Ya think? That holds true for the "war story" knife in general.

Here is a legitimate piece I recently sold. The description says it all.

Since only 2000 ever served with SOG and were 300 KIA, I am interested in where you spoke with "at least 500" (1/3 of the survivors) of them. I served 20+ years in SF most at Fort Bragg (1972-1996) and I never met that many, but I served with more than a few. Guess it is time for my BS flag to get thrown.
