I've had this one since 1988 and it was used when I bought it at a show in TX. Is in a JRB sheath with smooth snaps. I love it. It has always had the discoloration on the blade with a little etching. I don't really care as it is a user. But, I'm really interested to see if anyone has ever seen this spacer combo before. That is what really turned me on to this knife. I've never seen it since.
I think you are referring to the color of your spacers. I have two Model 5 from the 80'ies that have a similar middle spacer. The Birdseye Maple handled one is from 1985 - sorry for the props in the picture
Looks like some of the spacers lost their color over time - makes them even more special for me
Hey! What's to be sorry for? Now I'm not only hungry for some old Randalls but some good dried sausage too!!!!!!
Tony
Tony, we've already finished dinner on this side of the big water - guess what we had??
In fact, if I compare the spacers now it is interesting to see that the middle spacer looks almost the same but the outside red spacers seem very much like the red ones today on Tom's knife. Mine are faded as well.
Edit: Sorry, just found the other post concerning this spacer topic...
