Larry,

Congrats again on a great project. Looking at that blade reminds me of my rehandled Triathlete with red Pinecone. I just had Mudbone do the magic on a sheath. These blades look quite similar.

Very similar blades, nice usable size. Not every knife needs to be a big bowie.
Thanks again for the very cool ivory!

Earlier in this thread I posted a re-handled Randall 1-7, copper S hilt and sub hilt, black ceracoat finish with a Cooper Firearms gunstock handle. I sent the knife to Mudbone along with a cardboard mock-up of a custom sheath with a pivoting belt loop. Had this idea for a long time and just had to try it. Sitting in a car or a truck with a 7" blade just doesn't work; until now. Mudbone did a fantastic job. Got to give Grant credit for the grey elephant inlay, just makes that handle pop! I wore this rig Friday at Blade, it got a lot of ooohs and ahhhs.

I really like the idea of the swivel, make a lot of sense. Even a high ride isn't as comfortable as a swivel sitting in your rig. I want one.

I have a real old #10-5 that I bought back in 1975, has my etched name and worn out rosewood handle. I am thinking of Behring replacement stag slabs,a finger guard, and Mudbone swivel sheath. Heck of a fishing outfit.

Every once in a while I see a fishing combo rig show up with pliers and a model 10. I'm thinking Greg Gutcher made those up.

Yes, I have one of those rigs, although I doubt that I would ever use it. Brings me to an idea to have the James Gang redo my old #10 and match it with my Abel plyers ( the Randall of all plyers) into a set with a swivel sheath. What do you think?
