You guys are awsome. I have no TC pistols, but love my Encore rifles; 22-250, 243, 7mm-08, 30-06, and 50 cal black powder.

Those all are great calibers Pap. The 7MM-08 would be my favorite

Warren, I think the 7mm-08 is a top drawer caliber. I bought a Remington 788 in 7mm-08 for my son's first rifle. Even after 4 years in the Marine Corps, that's still his go to big game rifle. He has harvested a number of elk and deer. 140 gr. Nosler Partition is a very good bullet.

Now that's a hand cannon Tom. Who did the barrel?
I had a Weatherby CFP in .308 built on a MK5 light action. It needed a heavy bull barrel like yours; it was way to jumpy. There were other silly things I didn't like about it as well. It should have been made as a LH bolt action for a RH shooter. It was nice looking but a terrible handling gun. Glad I stuck with the TC in .45-70 which was way easier to shoot.

Sometime back in the late 70s I had the opportunity to fire a T/C Contender in 45/70,I think that the bbl was 6 inch.

One shot was enough!! I touched that off and I knew that the bull pooped in the buckwheat!!

Warren,

The MGM bull barrel makes a huge difference; I think they are made in Utah.

I like the .45-70 too.
