Assuming Lucille qualifies for Medicaid, she will stay at this current facility, but will go from a private room to a semi-private. Also her therapy sessions will decrease in time per week. The other alternative is to move her to our home and I would be the primary caretaker. That would mean making our living room the new hospital and renting a bed and other issues. In addition, Medicaid would provide up to 17 hours per week of professional nursing care. I have no problem takibg care of her, in fact except for administering her neds, i do it all anyway. Biggest problem at my house is it being remote and the amount of snow we have this year. Right now there is 5 feet on the level and more to come. Some hard decisions. Put down costs for related items. Not saying this a foolproof method, but it has helped us in making big decisions. Keep the faith. Then when we went to doing the heavy lifting with a confident knowledge at home, we didn't second guess and run to the doctor every 4th day or when something that was new to us happened, just a thought. Knowing keeps your anxiety down & keeps whom you are helping from picking up on it.
