Although I have a long long way to go in putting this story together for the fall issue of "KNIFE KNEWS", I know it will happen. Wally is (and has) done his part. I have spoken to Gary Randall this morning, along with Buddy Sturgis, SC Military Museum curator trying to get the facts straight. There's things to do..."BUT"...they'll get done. I have been working on the photos all morning and have reduced the load (kulled) down to about 35 photos. Many will be witheld for the article but here's a sneak-peak!
One question has been answered now, thanks to the Big Boy Canon camera is in reference to the sheath. It appears to everyone observing it that the only markings (stamping, if you will) on the back of the early Maurice Johnson roughback Model A sheath was the Randall sheath stamp..."WRONG"!! Look in the butterfly: 1 6 !! The search continues for the truth and actual facts about this historic knife.
...to be continued...Best, Capt. Chris
PS: Sorry: It appears that my photo editing is, to my dismay, not finished yet!...More to come...CCS
