Thanks Larry. I picked it up from a friend / mentor that has helped me enormously in my collecting career. We're pretty sure that it's a Model 1 and I think the handle is micarta, and it may date from the 1960s ... but that's all finger-in-the-wind guesswork.

Overall length is 12 5/8" and the blade is 8".

Yes...it is a Model 1.

What makes it "nicer" is what appears to be what the collectors call "Old Yellow" Micarta.

Some folks who collect period knives seek them out.

Thanks Larry. When I first saw the knife I thought they were some sort of ivory, but when I looked at them under a glass it became clear that they were micarta. I agree that the yellowing with age gives them a wonderful look.

Probably made from mid 1970's to 1980's. Maurice Johnson high ride...fairly uncommon and certainly wasn't a catalog offering. Nice rig...and "yes", Westinghouse ivorite (Old Yeller) micarta.
Stay sharp...and welcome aboard,
Capt. Chris

Thank you! I'm guessing that Maurice Johnson is no longer among the living?
