I like Peter's suggestion of both (fossil walrus and ironwood). Is that doable given the size of the handle?

If I have to pick one, I'd go with...

The cone is for the rest of the handle I think Max, not just a spacer option. I am pretty sure the spacers will be the IW or the FW or both.
The Captain was probably referring to the bottom half of the handle after the leather.
