I have been guilty of having too much handle material. True story! Sphinx's Bowie is an example of (what I have called, for years) "Exhibition-Grade IW". Some of you old timers might remember these pieces. 8 1/2 years ago I featured them in a "wood-wheel" on this very forum, after I returned from the 2010 Blade show.
Stabilization works well on many exotic woods but, in the case of ironwood, I prefer to wait for some time before I rush in and make RMKs with it. (I guess enough time has passed)...
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris

Description: Those are some pretty blocks, especially the left one. I have been buying Ironwood myself for the future. I can't let them be made into knife handles all at the same time, because it would be an expensive deal. I like these the best of the ones I have.

My text is really small?

This is what I typed for people with bad eye side. Those are some pretty blocks, especially the left one. I have been buying Ironwood myself for the future. I can't let them be made into knife handles all at the same time, because it would be an expensive deal. I like these the best of the ones I have. These are matching blocks. They are big enough for one Smithsonian and/or a 12-9 #14 Grind.

Wow, I just found the original post from 2010. After 8 years that Ironwood is a LOT darker.

all this wood.....kind of gets a guy excited...
We need a "got wood" thread, or maybe we already had one...it's very nice to get old, and not remember

I am gonna let my Ironwood dry for a few years, just in case laugh
I like the dark color better on those blocks you got. I hope mine stay the way they are, but that is not possible judging by your blocks.
