Gary,

I too have a .375 H & H but in a Colt Sauer (mid-70's mfgd.); it is one of the most accurate guns I have. You need to go somewhere good to use it now-Alaska or Africa!

Shoot straight.

Ill take that Great Dane, I don't own any expensive shoes. My brindle female only weighs 110 but she is only 6 months old. Love Danes had six of them over the last 30 years.

The first time I ever saw a 71' I knew I had to have one.

One of Winchester's nicer looking guns in my opinion.

I own two now... a standard and a deluxe.

Anything in a Model 1886 is great, specially in 45-70, but the 71 is the ultimate.

I'm a milsurp guy, and all my earliest rifles were in the venerable .303 British. I've still got two pieces that'll fire it, and even though I've moved on to 7.62x39 and x51 for regular shooting, the old .303 still has a special place in my heart.

For pistols, I'm a .45 or .455 guy.

For upland game in New England,I use my Darne 12 ga SXS and load it with 2 3/4 dram equivalent with 1 oz #7.5 shot for quail and grouse. For pheasant,I use the same load only I switch to #6 shot.

For deer,it is my Marlin 336 in 35 Remington made in the 1950s. The load is a 200 gr lead gas check bullet on top of 27 gr of Re7 for about 1800 fps.

For rabbit and squirrel then it is my Savage/Stevens 22lr/410 O/U.
