Chute.

I won't be taking a number; I already got lucky on the Woodpecker Lips RMK build. But I'm along for the ride anyway.

I like the shorter/taller blade on this recurve camp 8 & 1/2 inch blade. Not a artifact fan.
I like the handle (crows beak) style on this longer recurve camp but the blade isn't tall enough for my tastes.

I don't knw how well "2" builds, at one time, will work out but I'm in. For me, having field-tested one this past hunting season, I'd like to see a nicely-optioned Woodcraft! I have actually "used" large knives, in the field, before and find then a superior pain in the ass!
For actual game processing...of any type, except elephant-sized game, a 6-7" knife would be maximum. 4-5" is a more practical and friendly blade length for such purpose.
Fighter/survival? I would still opt for a 7" maximum. Ya' gotta' carry the damned thing folks! Anything larger/longer is "another" pain in the ass"! It all depends on your purpose I suppose.
Now: If we're building something just to look at and get "oohs & aahs" over, let's decide up front and move on from there. I love artifacts, even as a practical handle but it bumps the price considerably.
A "Scagel-styled" handle would be great also! Cannot wait to see which direction this build takes. I know, if Chief runs it, it will be..."just short" of an Excalibur!
Best, Capt. Chris
PS: My favorite "James' Gang" Scagel handled knife...CCS

I would like to do a "camp set" -- knife and hatchet. But, I'm in regardless.

Lots of excellent ideas already being discussed. I could go for...

1. Chute knife.
2. Skinner.
-Either would be cool, though I'd prefer a relatively smaller (maybe 5" or so) blade rather than a BA blade.
3. I also like Jim's idea of a camp set with matching knife and hatchet.
