I bought the sheath from Steve Zimmerman about 10 years ago. I've been looking for the right knife for it.When you grip the knife your index finger goes right to the release. Any info on the sheath would be much appreciated.

Dennis,
Does the Gutcher sheath stamp have FKCC on it?

It was not uncommon for Greg to make non-catalog sheath styles for RMK's...ESPECIALLY before the fire and Greg's nearing retirement era. The "Tampa-Oval" stamp was used a good, long time, even after the shop had moved to Odessa. Shortly after the move, new leather stamps were made, indicating the new location.
Danny Gutcher may add more to this but it simply looks as though a customer "special-ordered" it from Greg...in the old shop.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

Here's a comparison of the two stamps--oval Tampa and square Odessa.

I picked up this #2 and sheath in the last couple years from another member here. I really like both a lot. It works great for carrying in a concealed situation. The index finger goes naturally to the snap when withdrawing.

Thanks Capt. and Steve for the info. Capt. does the FKCC that you asked about stand for
Florida Knife Collectors Club?
Duke. A very interesting arrangement on that Johnson sheath. Never heard of a "sheathery" before. Cool Stamp.
