My 3 would be my 5-6, the second custom ordered anything I ever had,my small gamblers, they're the right size to keep in the glove box, and the third, a plain Jane model 15, the first Randall I ever owned. Bought it in the mid eighties at a gunshop outside of Edwards airbase,(I was stationed at China Lake NWC).Carried it all thru the desert for my remaining enlistment. Came home to northern Michigan, met a girl, went to Lansing to meet some of her family, took the knife with me. Arrived Friday night,on Sunday morning, found the drivers vent window punched out(remember those?), door open, the only thing missing was my Randall. Owned it for about 8 years. Hope the SOB who stole it cut his fingers (or something else) off.Painfully.

Capt. Chris,
If there was any knives that I could just get, it would be the Leschorn 7 Continents Set. I would start with three!!! Do not have pic's of them all; but there is no set of knives that have had the detail and craftsmanship and hours of work ever put into them that this set has. It is a shame that they are not altogether in one collection and I would build some display cabinet for them!
This is my Grail set.

I'll play along but, of course, I can't "win" anything. (I know: Doesn't seem fair, does it?) I am going to have to break my "3" into 2 categories: 1st: 3 knives I would chose (& "have" chosen) for useful purposes. Caveat: I have over a dozen RMKs that I "actually" use, quite often. These are ones I cannot do without... * Model #10-5", "DROP POINT", made for me by Dave Griffin at the Randall shop about a quarter of a century ago! The scales are over-sized green canvas. Special blade shaping (drop point) handle shaping and width of material make it...more than special...!! It also came with "double thumb notches (top & bottom) and a brown-stitched Sullivans sheath!

2nd would be one that Ramking touched on earlier. Yes: It's Bo's favorite and one of mine as well! It's my 5 inch Model #3 with (believe it or not) Randall shop-supplied stag! One look and I was hooked! I added thumb notches, name etching, a compass and also had Greg Gutcher make me a special waxed Model A sheath, no hone pocket and a large drain hole...just in case I have to wade a swamp to retrieve James' whitetails! I had misplaced this knife, along with my matching Model #5-5", after I had the shop refinish them after this past hunting season. All's well that ends well and both were "discovered" this morning. This knife, despite it's new appearance, has dressed, gutted and skinned a hundred whitetails, including working on "7" this year alone!! Best, Capt. Chris

3rd choice would be my custom Triathlete for EDC. Gene Beal installed the mastodon scales, using copper mosaic pins and I have never seen any I liked better! Greg made the horn back Crocodile sheath as well! Best, Capt. Chris

THAT #3 is basically "Excalibur" far as the Ramking is concerned...

My randall experience only goes back a few years now, but here are my modest three - Model #28My goto for hiking, camping, and hunting is my #28. Its just so useful for so many chores. When I went to South Africa in '15 to visit my sister who now lives there, I got to go hunting with my brother in law for a few days. He liked my 28 so much, I just gave it to him and got another one for myself when I got back. Stoddard SpecialI just got my first Sgts from Bird Guy, and I really like it. I would really like to have one of the original Stoddard's Tunefink's great site has the best pictures around. All credit to him for this example - http://www.randallmadeknife.com/stoddards-special/ My third would be a Bear Camp Special. I always liked #5s, and this just seems like a really cool package. Here is a great thread on them. http://www.knifetalkforums.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=114448&page=1
