Crutchtip, were there any commandos made with a "steel" chainlink ?
The really nice one you have is brass and the one in the Hunt book is also brass.

Joe probably knows for sure, but I would guess yes, steel chain link maybe between brass chain link and drilled thonghole.

I have seen three Commandos first hand (excluding 9" and 10" blades of similar grind) and photos of a few more.

The big bladed ones are almost too big to be practical and I don't know if they are actually Commandos per se.

The generally accepted line of thought is they were mostly 7" with a few 6" examples thrown in. I think it was Beaucant that stated Bo told him he made very few. Gaddis states it similarly.

I don't recall seeing one with a monel wrist thong link.

Pair of 18's. Both sporting Johnson Sheaths from two different decades. Tight stitch and loose stitch among other differences.
