Here is another #4-6-6-SS that came in on Thursday, which is somewhat "Plain Jane" in that it has a standard Black Micarta handle. The four additional chargeable options are a Stainless Steel Blade (the #6 Grind is a non-chargeable option), Thumb Notches, Nickel Silver Hilt (the Squared Top is a non-chargeable option), and Aluminum/Black Spacers.
Here is the same knife, on top of a piece of Cherry Burl:

There is "5" chargeable options, for anyone interested...not "4". 1) Stainless 2) Thumb notches 3) Nickel silver single hilt 4) Aluminum & black spacers 5) Black micarta handle Best, Capt. Chris

What was said was "standard" black micarta, which is confusing at best. "Standard" is leather. I was just trying to explain, by listing "all" 5 options, so someone doesn't order in error. Best, Capt. Chris

My use of "standard" was as Tom thought, specifically that its shape is standard, as opposed to being Border Patrol or Single Finger Grip (like the one I received last month). In any case, I am fully aware that this #4-6-6-SS has five chargeable options.

Oh, and the black sheath was $20 extra, but doesn't count toward the limit of five chargeable options. Specifying no hone pocket for the sheath was at no additional charge.
The best part is that I paid catalog price for this knife: $480 ($340 + $45 + $15 + $15 + $35 + $10 and $20 for the black sheath). I also received it just over six months after placing the order.
