How about a #3 5" or a 5" single hit #1?

I know the #5 is the perfect all around camp knife. But I have a #5 coming from the Capt.

Capt. Chris and Peter--

I too liked the Model 15 single hilt nominee. Normally that blade is a bit heavy (thick) and the grind line is too low to appeal to me for things like kitchen duty.

What if...that Model 15 blade could be flat-ground up to the spine (similar to the Nordic Knives Special), or would it work to give it the "4-6" treatment? That would still give a robust blade, in a package that is not too long/bulky to wear anywhere outdoors, and with a cross-section that should work well in slicing chops, veggies, etc.

Don't think that is possible. You can get a model 3 with a #6 grind.

Model 3-5" with a Model 6 grind?
I recall reading somewhere that Bo thought 5" was max for a belt knife when riding in a pick-up?
I like Stainless since I would probably use it in Colorado and Florida for fishing more than most other activities.
Orange Handle for when (not if) I drop it alongside the creek or over the side and have to jump in.
There's the reasoning and the extremely persuasive pitch smile

Correction--it is the Glades Hunter!

Warren--

The Gator Special is a 4-6, but the 4 has more belly that might be desired.

I don't think I have seen a 3-6. Can you refer me to a photo?

Larry, your right about the blade being very thick and doesn't do the fine work as well as others, however, as a camp knife it does have some pros. very rugged knife and will do the camp work fine. I want address the #6 grind as mentioned in other post, just because I hate that grind.

the standard 15 grind is very versatile and there are other grinds that work well on the 15.
