Good fun all around, Lol. Just looking forward to some quality time in the woods. Lyme disease is an epidemic here. Doc is testing and getting 100% positive results. Lone star tic is the one that is deadly.

For those subscribers on You Tube, just look up Lynyrd Skynyrd Syracuse State Fair.

Bummer on the Lyme's disease. Thumbs up on the draw. I drew on a late, for us anyway, Thanksgiving black powder buck hunt. At least it's in my back yard, literally. Snow helps.

Warren,

Well done with the Doe tags! Always enjoyed the Fair. Saw Aerosmith there; fun venue.

You are right, Ticks are all over the place up North; never had the issue until the last 4-5 years.

Bow season is right around the corner! I will call you when I am going up to the Finger Lakes hunt and we can do breakfast.

Warren

We have friends who live in the country about 45 mins north of us. Their dogs come in daily with tics on them. The dogs have had injections so the tics don't bother them.
Our friends have antibiotics (or whatever is needed, I don't recall) if they are bit by the tics.
It is not a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
I just got back from a 4 1/2 hr bike ride. I had to do a stop in the bush for a needed break. When I got home I was "looking myself over in the mirror". Not a pretty sight, but no tics, thank goodness.

Rod,

With all the rain we've had this year the grass and brush is overgrown. The population of tics is exploding exponentially. It's one of the reasons I gave up bow hunting.

Warren good luck on the Doe tags. Here you can take 3 on your regular lic. if you don't want to take a buck, then you can buy more doe tags as many as you want I think. These extra tags are only good on private land. My yard is full of deer and turkeys almost every day. I have one almost all white had two but the little buck didn't make it through the hunting season and winter. He was so small I didn't think anyone would shoot him,but we have way to many coyotes and they are big.

Sidney,

Everything here is done by lottery for anterless permits unless you're on private farmland and the owner has nuisance permits. There is a short window when the DEC grants additional permits to fill the quota. I actually got turned down one year and received a preference point for the following year but several weeks later they mailed me a tag anyway. Anyway hope this year is better than last. Opening Day and the days that followed we got 20" of snow and it ruined the week.
