And while I like BP's Model 25 idea (love the vintage look of the Model 25 handles), the Capt. is right...doing so would certainly lessen/diminish the size (and visual impact) of the beautiful piece of bog oak.

I think the traditional Bowie top edge would be great--and how about a forward-curved hilt? (It looks pretty nice on my 12-9 with thuya burl in Border Patrol shape.)

Both of your Bowies are not the traditional grind Steve. It may add to the confusion as these are "both" #14 grinds. Notice the straight top edge? Standard Bowie grind shown below. Best, Capt. Chris
