Peter

That is an excellent looking knife. IMO there may not be any Ironwood left in the desert soon, with you buying all those knives!!!

Well, I must have been good this year because the big brown truck stopped by today with this gift for me. I wasn't expecting it until next year, but it got done early I guess.
The guys in the shop did another excellent job

Here is my new model 4 6 inch, model 6 grind, stainless, thumb notches, square top brass hilt, very nice stag, all black spacers, wrist thong, compass with a waxed, left-hand no hone sheath.

Peter

That's an outstanding #4-6-6-SS, Peter! And, as you know, that exact configuration can no longer be ordered.

Thanks guys
I had this knife pictured in my mind and it came out great even though it isn't ironwood:). I think that there are few situations that exist that I wont have a suitable knife to use.

Ken,
Why can't this knife be ordered?...and thanks for the card.
Best, Capt. Chris
PS: Edited to add that I know the reason, but I thought Ken might want to explain it to folks who may want to order one...in the future...CCS

Cap,

The reason that this configuration can no longer be ordered is because as of 2011, it will have six chargeable options. The #6 Grind on a #4-6", regardless of whether the blade is carbon steel or stainless, is now a chargeable option ($10). It was a non-chargeable option up until now.

Interestingly, the #6 Grind is still a non-chargeable for the #7-4.5" and #7-5" knives.
