Because when you show the big ones, everyone comes on and says it's from Fla. or Texas.
And since the largest listed in LA. is 19 feet plus.......LOL.

There's several different versions on where this happened but I believe Snopes said it was near the GA/SC border and taken by a USFWS officer in 2004.

Warren--

That is why I wouldn't have a water dog in Florida, or anywhere gators live. Cpt. Chris told me about losing a Labrador some years ago. There are probably a lot of incidents that don't get into the news, or we just miss when they do.

I liked the recent story of the 12-year-old girl who made a gator let go of her leg by sticking her fingers up his nose!

Something along the lines of a .44 Special or Magnum is probably better to make one let go.

Our Hilton Head complex has a few one week transient rentals. Every year we've got folks letting their dogs lose along the banks of the creek. Some listen to the advice, others don't. There's been more than one dog that became lunch.

Who's got the pictures of the huge python that swallowed a huge gater, and they figured another gater came along and bit the head off the python.

No, the one where the python bursts open. I found it on you tube but can't get it to copy the link.
