Let me try one more time.
Model 14
1) leather w/ grips
2) thong
3) sawteeth
4) NS guard, drilled (is drilled a chargeable option?)
5) rounded NS buttcap
6) all black spacers
will go with brass if drilled is pushing me over
Thanks much!

Uh-Oh.

No butt cap with full tang (to get saw teeth).
No saw teeth (again) with the cut down tang you have to have to have a butt cap.

Sorry Cap. Had to jump in.

Joshua, I am trying to get all this straight for myself.

Let "ME" try one more time..."SAWTEETH ARE NOT AVAILABLE" on a Model #14, CDT. O.K. Try again...Your turn. and yes: The holes are a chargeable option.
Best, Capt. Chris

My last post I had removed the CDT. Not trying to annoy you.
With drilled counting let's try;
Model 14 NO CDT
1) leather w/ grips
2) drilled brass hilt
3) sawteeth
4) rounded brass buttcap
5) thong
6) all black spacers

Tom,
Somewhat similar to your "is this one for real thread"

Joshua, buddy: How are you going to get a leather handle "without" a "CDT"? O.K.: From the beginning:
A Model #14 is available with a full, "exposed", tang. That means that the handle material "has" to be micarta, G-3 or G-10. No other material is available "slotted" so the full "exposed" tang can run through it.
Now A Model #14-7 1/2" "CDT" has a "reduced" hilt and therefore you can get leather, wood, stag, ivory, etc., etc..."BUT" you cannot get "sawteeth".
If you want a Randall knife with a leather handle "and" sawteeth your choices are:
Model #1...Model #5...Model "Combat Companion". That's your "only" cloices.
Best, Capt. Chris

Thanks Rick--interesting info. I hope it's OK to attach this link, but could you tell me if you'd consider the following Westinghouse Micarta:

Thanks Captain for the information...I appreciate it! And yes....I agree, the term "factory" certainly doesn't give Randall the credit it deserves. Thanks to you and Rick for setting me straight.

By the way, I live in Nebraska......unfortunately, I'm not aware of any authorized dealers in my neck of the woods??

Doug,
It's too late this evening and I'm "on the road" without access to my safe, but I have some of this material already made up on Randall knives. It is antique gold micarta and is "not" the old Westinghouse paper micarta. It's good stuff! It works well and the shop loves it. It's hard to get...NOW: But it's about a $30-$35 handle. When I get back from the woods (3 days or so) remind me and I'll post some of it.
Best, Capt. Chris

Nebraska?
The closest "authorized" Randall knife dealer, selling at catalog price, to you is Gary Clinton, in Chicago. Email me, Doug. My name phone and email are at the bottom of my posts.
Best, Capt. Chris
