Would it be possible to have the shop install a name plate, AKA escutcheon plate, in the micarta handle of a knife "after the fact"?

That is, if the knife was originally made without one.

Thank you.

What I'd really like is a Model 3-5 with a Ward Gay shaped handle, but I think that handle is only available on the Model 20. (I'm assuming that decision was made because it takes a while to shape this handle and would slow the show down?)

So, would it be possible to order a 3-5 with finger grooves and a rounded/radiused butt (no cap)? What about a teardrop with shallow finger grooves?

Finger grips can be ordered as right handed or left handed. Or #14 style. I do not believe there is an option to customize their depth.

I’m left wondering if the shop will do a rounded butt on a standard shaped handle, though. I love the 3-5 blade, but aside from the odd slightly curved stag here or there, the Ward Gay handle is the only one I’ve seen that really fits the 3-5, and the shop.

Colin,

You could ask for a thin rounded butt cap. It would get you closer to what you want IMO. You could also add finger grips I also sent you a PM.

On second thought you may be able to order a domed butt cap.

Domed is available on certain knives & handles shapes like the Clinton special with this handle shape.
I am not sure of the choices on a model 3.

Chief,

Bill Castleberry a well known ebay seller has many knives made with that same concave handle shape. Almost all are domed Duraluminum with Desert Iron Wood
handles.
Most are knives with blades under 4". Would be interested to see if FG could be added.
