Pat, I have that exact same Kimber and have not fired it yet. My other Kimbers I have.I always polish the feed ramp and inside the throat of the barrel before I light them up.Get a few hiccups but it takes 300 to 500 rounds to get them to run smoother.Good luck.It will win you over!!!

I did polish the feed ramp, but not the inside of the barrel throat. Guess that's next. I've had the gun for about 3 years and I shot it quite a bit early on with no problems. it sat idle for about two years and a couple of months ago I dug it out and have been shooting it every few weeks. Seems like the hangups just started recently. I'll get it worked out, the gun is a joy to shoot and is definitely a keeper. I have carried it on occasion, but I need to be able to depend on it should (heaven forbid) I ever need it.

I generally carry my Pro Tactical. It's had more rounds through it than my other 6 Kimbers. The TLE runs a close second as far as rounds down range.I polish the feed ramp after every 200 rounds. It probly don't need it but I do that on all my pistols including 22's.

All things not being equal, if the 2 rounds that jammed came from the same box of 50, I would tend to lay the blame there. Probably a little out of round, to much powder and a lot of expansion.

Pat, I use my Drimel tool with the fabric(cloth)or whatever you call it. I use jewelers rouge, semichrome,or toothpaste works too.I never use sand paper ,emery cloth.I just polish it till I can .get it real shiny and see no copper build up the thin coat of oil.Give that a try!!

Was thinking the same Billy. I've used a snug fitting bore mop with Flitz or equiv and it does a great job with a hand drill. Polished chamber only, no metal removed.
