Something to like about Utah, and probably goes back to some wild days at turn of the last century. Suprised it is not the state gun of Texas. I always get a sense of Pershing and Pancho Villa when I handle one. The SAA perfected.

Browning was from Ogden UT and that is likely why the 1911 is the Utah state gun

The Browning museum is in the Ogden RR Depot and is fantastic.

Oh, I know JMB pretty well, but the state could have adopted a Winchester lever, Remington shotgun, or even single-shot .22 he invented as a state gun.

I would love to visit the museum, as the man was probably THE most influential American inventor, of all time, aside from Edison's success in erasing the night sky and making large cities popular places to migrate.

For an impressive private collection of 1911s, check out the Woolaroc museum (basement) SW of Bartlesville, OK.

Kimber to open a new facility in AL. I predict it won't be many years after completion and they'll be out of Yonkers, NY.

Yes, Alabama is booming, Airbus factory at old Brookley Field, automotive plants in midstate expanding. And firearms. You probably are right, as for a move, the taxes on 1 acre with a 1500sq ft house in midstate NY, about same as a 10,000 sq ft home on 300 acres in AL, much less the $30,000/mth rent for a narrow three story storefront in lower Manhattan with owner/family living on 3rd floor. Not to mention, no true union presence.

I would like to find a good Stainless 1911 at the Tulsa Gun Show. ( April 7 & 8)

Colt Gold Cup Trophy or Colt Competition.

Any info would be appreciated.
