Spartanburg made out good last night, but Greenville had an EF-2 last night when the storms rolled through. South Carolina has been getting hard from these storms.

Glad you made it out OK.

Sometimes the storms seem to be PO'd that they traveled halfway across the continent and yet again missed WDC.

Scary stuff
we had one of your cold fronts come last week a hopping and a jumping
Took out some neighborhoods about 10 mikes away in Sanford FL
another on the way
But left some really nice weather behind it

While I do love parts of the South, I'll take a little snow and cold in Idaho, for tornadoes, hurricanes, and all those bugs and snakes. In 50 years, I have never seen a cockroach in Idaho. There maybe some somewhere, but I've never seen any.

I've been on projects throughout the South, and living in an RV, never felt safe during the tornado season.

I echo your statement 100%. I have lived through numerous typhoons (in Asia), earthquake in Japan and Nepal and bugs, snakes, etc in Australia and South Africa. But I, like you, will take the winters and the odd tornado here in Ontario.

We had another nasty cold front come through. Weather peeps laid out a chart of who was gonna get it worst and our place was right in the bullseye.

In the predictions were big hail, 75mph+ straight-line winds, possible tornado drop or two or three.

It was scheduled to pass over us right at 10p, same time as an evening work event where I needed to be online. I had the TV in my office streaming a weather radar to have an idea of how bad it was going to be when it came through.

The storm parted at it approached our 'hood. The scale varied from red (bad) to light blue (drizzle) and the red/orange/yellow split and a swath of "blue" rolled over us. We got "some rain" and a light show, that was it.

Here it is,May 9th and we had snow & sleet last night. Cold and windy today with temps maybe getting into the low 50s this week.

I have a feeling that this will be one of those winters that will stretch right into July.

It is cold and rainy here still much like March. In April it rained 22 out of 30 days and the wind will just not stop blowing. It was in the 30's last night and will be again tonight.

Colorado is dry, coming out of driest April.
We are back in drought rating headed to severe drought.
But, we are "Safer at Home" through most of May.
Masks required on those days we make the trek to stock up on groceries.
