I picked up a really nice Springfield 1911 at Tulsa Gun Show on Saturday.

A guy said he needed some money for IRS and let it go very cheap.

I've run 5 8 round magazines & 2 10 round magazines through it without a hitch.

Walmart had a box of 100 rounds Remington 230 grain JHP on sale for $39.99.

So that's all I've shot through it so far.

No jams, ejects every time, Shoots very sweet!

Springfield makes a great 1911 and that Remington is good clean ammo to just plink around with. Excellent pick up Coach!

Coach,
Have you thought about changing out the main spring housing to
a flat one. It'll get you deeper in the gun for a better grip.
You picked up a nice shooter. Also might want to polish the feed ramp and inside the throat of the barrel.

Billy,
Sounds like good advice but in my humble opinion,if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Originally the 1911 was made with a flat main spring housing but was changed to an arched one for better target acquisition.

I guess that it is mainly a matter of choice as to what feels and works best for the individual.

I will be studying on what all to do with it. So, keep it coming.

Right now, I’m thinking Crimson Trace grips and maybe a Beveled Magwell.

Coach,
It sounds nice but remember what I said about when folks "customize" their cars, the last thing they put on it is a for sale sign!!!

The grips sound like a good idea but again,in my opinion, you really don't need a beveled magwell.

The piece operates pretty darn good as JMB designed it.

Were it mine, and it functioned like it was supposed to, I'd just shoot it and enjoy it. It's a nice looking piece, and I really like those grips. Good score, Coach.
