A fiend of mine had a grandfather in WW I and gave him his 1911 with all the belts and leather. In addition, he gave him a box of ammo like I have never seen before or after. The diagram on the box showed multiple layered bullet heads. Like 3 separate heads, I presume that after firing, they would seperate. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I have at least 15 different 1911s, some modern, some from WW-1 and some from WW-2. I love the trigger but hate the weight for EDC. My daily carry is either a SIG P228 or a SIG P220 Carry.

[I would add a photo by Photobucket sucks and I can't upload images to KTF!]

My mother-in-law gave me her grandfather's 1911 from WW-1 for Christmas last year, along with its original holster, magazine, his military records and a photo of him in uniform. I cherish it!

No longer in production, S&W 945 Performance Center 3 3/4" barrel. Not a 1911 and totally different from the grip angle to the spherical Briley barrel bushing, to the internal barrel/ frame lockup. This one is an early first production, no -1 for firing pin block. Performance wise, smooth as silk and what you expect from a PC gun. Other barrel lengths of 3 1/4", and 5"; also stainless models. Mine was made around 2000 and came in the custom aluminum case.
Would be as close as you could get to a 1911 Officers Model. Great gun, collectible, and a super accurate shooter.

Yes ! Had several thru the years, now all I have is a Colt lightweight Commander in .38 Super circa 1951 with Coltwood grips. I also still have a Star PD .45 acp bought in the seventies.

Warren,
I had the stainless version of those in all 3 sizes.
They were super accurate!!!Guy told me he wanted them and I told him they weren't for sale.He wrote a $ amount on a piece of paper
and handed it to me and we have both been happy ever since.

Which do y'all prefer in 1911?

.45 acp or 10mm?
