It is at the moment the worst drought this far in the year, that we have ever seen in the Netherlands since they started recording in 1901. I am no expert at climate change and what causes it exactly, but it is changing.

We got a break from the heat today. Only 104.

Believe it or not, you can feel the difference.

The highest temperature EVER measured here was 101.48 and you call 104 a break from the heat. Here are very few people with air conditioning and pools but I guess in Texas almost everybody has got them?

A lot of pools, we ripped ours out five years ago.

AC in houses is pretty much mandatory.

When we built our house, I made sure that the AC was as good as I get. I also made our house like an ice chest with insulation. So far, so good.

I don’t have a pool, but I do have a 3’ deep 3’ x 8’ galvanized cow trough. If I fill it full of 57 degree well water early in the morning on these 100+ degree days, Ill be able to stand to get in it about 5:00 in the evening.

It will take my breath away when I first get in it. But, in about 30 min and a cold beverage, or 2, I feel like a new man.

68 degrees out here on my porch this morning. Low humidity, feels GOOOOD!

I’m gonna drink my coffee and enjoy this. I know it won’t last long.

102 today.

Still much more tolerable than the 111 of Thurs-Mon.
