Pap,

God bless you and Lucille. That is an awesome moment. One that you have been praying for and one that we all hoped would come your way.

Continued prayers for more miracles!

We have a big decision to make in 2 weeks. Assuming Lucille qualifies for Medicaid, she will stay at this current facility, but will go from a private room to a semi-private. Also her therapy sessions will decrease in time per week. The other alternative is to move her to our home and I would be the primary caretaker. That would mean making our living room the new hospital and renting a bed and other issues. In addition, Medicaid would provide up to 17 hours per week of professional nursing care. I have no problem takibg care of her, in fact except for administering her neds, i do it all anyway. Biggest problem at my house is it being remote and the amount of snow we have this year. Right now there is 5 feet on the level and more to come. Some hard decisions.

Mike

My thoughts are with you.

My wife and I find it helps to make lists with pros on one side and cons
on the other. Put down costs for related items.

Not saying this a foolproof method, but it has helped us in making big decisions.

Keep the faith. You got lots of people in your corner.

As a dad of two special needs kids we learned up front that therapy was best up front till my wife had it down pat.
Then when we went to doing the heavy lifting with a confident knowledge at home,
we didn't second guess and run to the doctor every 4th day or when something that was new to us happened, just a thought.
Knowing keeps your anxiety down & keeps whom you are helping from picking up on it.
We here will keep you & this decision in our Prayers.
