I think a large Camp knife would get everyone's attention. This one's a 8" drop point; my artifact fossil. A camp knife 8-10" would be the ticket IMO.
And in case of the fossil, grind down the middle and leave the end like a crows beak. That chisel end is too perfect, keep it intact.
