Brent,

I have several blades blued from BMK and they turned out great.
Nice idea, you won't be disappointed.

-BLADE: Hammermark on wharncliffe profile blade (I was initially considering convex, but the darkness of the hammermarks complements the following guard/spacer suggestions; I'm seeing a knife which goes from darker to lighter as one moves back from the blade to the butt).
-GUARD: Copper single guard.
-SPACERS: A darker spacer theme to transition from the blade, and to offset/complement the lighter color FWI handle. Any black/dark Dall Sheep horn on hand? If so, maybe a black Dall exotic spacer in the center of spacer stack, highlighted by copper and black fiber spacers to either side. If no black sheep horn on hand, can we substitute a spacer of bison horn (doable with bison horn?) or, if not, how about black micarta.

I like the "tall" Camp blade as it's a big FWI.
I've always liked hammer marked best, that light fossil begs for polished, tough call. But Bob makes a good sale on the dark to light transition so hammer marked for me.
Here is a shot of nickel silver & copper on hammer marked blades.
I'm leaning toward the nickel on this one.

Blued steel hardware also an option. I posted a large Kukri yesterday with blue on blue.
Just for kicks and giggles.

Hammermark
Copper.
Yes on spacers to add length to the handle but not sure about color or material.

No need to do the math- no one has said convex so we'll rule that part out.

There has been enough mention of it to where we need a clarity vote on blued or not. I've also written down all things mentioned and am noticing a trend so am going to refine the options a bit.

AS IT STANDS:

9" Camp Knife
Hammermark Finish (hollow grind)
Copper Guard (nickel was only mentioned twice shape TBD)
Spacer: TBD
Fossil Walrus Handle (donated by Warren)
Mudbone Leather with Beavertail inlay (donated by Pap)

Four spacer themes were suggested and I like them all. I'm going to shut the door on the "open ended" vote and let you all decide which of these four you prefer. Lastly we're going to settle up on guard shape, from where we can get this bad boy moving!

BLUED:

YES
or
NO

SPACER A: Maroon + Copper
SPACER B: Maroon + Copper + Black
SPACER C: Exotic + Copper + Black
SPACER D: Blue + Aluminum + Black
*please note that the specifics of the layout will be up to James' artistic notion

GUARD SHAPE:
1. Standard single
2. Tall or "double"
3. S - guard
4. Half - s

Vote on boys!
