I absolutely love my 16 SPF. I used it on an expedition last year and it was perfect. It is one of my favorite RMKs.

First Randall I ever bought for myself was a Model #16 that I ordered thru Tom Clinton. Has my name on it so it is a keeper for life.

I have others that I use more but that model was still "My First Randall".

First Randall I ever had was a #16 as well, given to me by Santa Clause christmas of 1966...maybe 1967...still have it.

The model 16 SP1 Fighter began as a dealer special offered by Doug Kenefick.

This one is stamped K 16. "Kenefick 16"

what year? I remember reading that it was available to those in the know years before it hit the catalog, mostly for soldiers.

I don't know the specific year, but I understand it was the late 70's.

Any idea of how many were made?? That's a beautiful example.

I didn't think they were that early. The example you show looks more like mid 80's than 70's. Of course, you know what stone, etc. the collateral equipment was...I don't. I also don't think the numbers were quite large, as proof in fact by the small amount of them out there.
We haven't heard from "Crutch" on this. I "KNOW" how much he loves the sixteen special fighter!!
