Ya' know, Rhett...and others: It took me a good, long time to warm up to the Model #11. I never cared for the "cut-out thumb notched" knife blade design. Well: All of that has changed and it changed decades ago! I love 'em! Just as other folks have their "pet" model Randall knives, so do I...and The Alaskan Slinner is definately on my short list. Thanks to you Rhett, and all others for posting such fantastic examples here! Best, Capt. Chris

Dubie,
This not a criticism, I'm just wondering why you said that? I feel that the Model 11 is one of the most unique if not best skinning blades ever made. When you pick one up it becomes obvious. I had a dealer at the ECCKS tell me the same thing 2 weeks ago. Everyone is entitled to their own choices. That leaves more of those "ugly" knives for me!
Best, Warren
PS: I may have taken your comments out of context. Like I said no criticism.

Warren, As I stated earlier in this thread: It took me a good long time to warm up to the "Alaskan" also. Dubie may have been talking about the fact that a Musk Ox is named that for a reason...Whew!! Here's another "look". Best, Capt. Chris
