Thanks Wayne.

I feel pretty fortunate to get to do so.

That guy looks like he is having a “BALL” in that nice lawn!!!

My poor dogs are hibernating on the porch under the mister and fans. (103F right now)

They are banished from the house for while because one of them dragged up a very ripe hog carcass.

Eric,
That pup has such a happy smile!!!

Coach,
The dog was just bringing in some food for you to cook!!
The feral cats that hang around outside my house do something like that occasionally, they leave a dead squirrel, mouse etc on the front doorstep.

I do not know if it is a gift or they want me to cook it for them.

Coach, Shiloh will fetch a tennis ball all day if I had the energy to toss them.

Wayne, He lives to play fetch. He sleeps with a tennis ball.

We are having a perfect Summer here, mid-80's.

Eric,
Dogs seem to have their favorite "stuff" that they tend to play & sleep with.

When we would go on any trips whether it be camping or cross country, our dog,Luvvy, would always have her bag of "stuff" to go along.

Dogs/pets make a house a home.

When ours passed away about 20 yrs ago,it darn well nearly killed me. Cannot go through that again...…….ever.

We took an ALL DAY road trip yesterday.

My Bride had decided that it was too hot to leave our dogs on the porch all day so she was out at 6:00 a.m. giving them a shampoo bath so that they could ride in the back seat of the truck.

We drove 442 miles yesterday with 2 - 100lb. bloodhounds in the back floorboard.

I told my Bride that we must have lost our everlovin’ minds!

But those two dogs rode as good as our kids ever did. They mostly slept but they let us know when they needed to go or got thirsty. They even sat quietly while we ate outside at a picnic table in the heat. Ruby did bark at a squirrel that got too close but Ricky just chilled.

Each time we stopped, they were more than ready to get their butts back into the AC when it was time to get back on the road.

Last night, about 10:00, I told my Bride that we had become just like all those people that we used to talk about and make fun of for taking their dogs on vacation.

Wayne, I totally agree!

Growing up we always had German Shepards. Bob was my first dog I remember and Duke was my teenage buddy. Bob was a charmer and Duke was an enforcer. My Dad flew a lot in his USAF career and wanted a big dog at home when he was TDY or during his 3 tours in Vietnam. When I got married I also got a Shepard. Ike was a charmer an enforcer and my best friend for 10 years. When he passed I was a wreck until my wife reminded me that Ike had a great life and it would be a shame not to have another dog and give him the same. So, I got a West highland Terrier. Lilo was the smartest dog I ever owned. She gave us 16 years and gave me more than I ever gave her. Shiloh is 8 now and my shadow. He will also break my heart one day, but until then it’s tennis ball city. Spending this weekend at the South Haven blueberry festival. Headed back out to the festival for live music in a few hours, weather is perfect. Side note, Lake Michigan water level is higher right now than anyone around here can ever remember. Some Bridges are under water. Beach areas have been drastically reduced.
