So, there is talk about Snow or some kind of winter event in the Forecast for the upstate of SC this weekend. Still up in the air. If it comes up from Atlanta we usually get a good one. Meanwhile, in Spartanburg,SC I'm doing the SNOW DANCE!! Bring on that white stuff!!!

Lori,

You can come up here and shovel 2-3 feet of the white stuff in below zero temps and see how long you like it.

I think I will pass on that Wayne!! We get excited down here because we hardly get it. I like getting paid days off to stay home and play in the snow. As far as shoveling, that's gotta be a pain!! Usually when we have an event....it's an Ice Event!! So, it's going to be interesting. They are all over the place with what we are going to get.

Back in the day, we had a corporate office in Alabama.

Living with the northern winters, I was amused how the Alabama office would close for a snow day if they had a flurry!

Not sure if it was an abundance of caution, or maybe an excuse.

Rocky,
For the most part,us Yankees were born in the snow!! A ten inch storm is basically a ho-hum so what day.

If you are not used to driving in it.....things can get interesting!!!!

Folks should learn that 4 wheel drive does not equate to 4 wheel stop!!! SLOW DOWN!!!!! Just because the speed limit is 35 MPH does not mean you have to drive that fast in the snow.

Lori,
We do not remove the snow,we just "relocate it" from one location to another.
In late March when we have the snow melt/ice break up,things tend to happen rather quickly. Streams and rivers flood and it is amazing to see what the ice carries down the river.

Windsor,
That sign pretty much says it all.

We just received about 5 inches of heavy, wet snow with temps near 40. So in a bit I will be doing "slush relocation"

Ice had formed on the river during the zero cold snap and now that is breaking up with ice flows going down the river.

Just in time for things to ice up when the temps drop tonight...again.

Happy,Happy, Happy! We finally got a good snow!! We have over 6 inches of Snow in Spartanburg, SC. Thankfully we have not lost power. The roads are terrible and it appears that our county hasn't did anything to our roads. Interstates 85 and 26 are clear, but our secondary roads are terrible. Maybe they are out today working. Now they are calling for some more Friday and Saturday. Making Snow Cream and loving it!!

Lori,
I hope all goes well with your "snow enjoyment". Most southern states do not have snow equipment being that it is not financially sound to spend many dollars on things that are seldom needed.

If you want a real treat, you can go up to my cabin in northern Maine. Right now it is a balmy minus 15 degrees with lots of snow.
