Current forecast is 99F today and triple digit highs carrying us through the 19th.

If we hit 100F today (on the weather app) I'm gonna screencap that forecast on the phone.

Oddly enough, the local weather stations near the house report temps higher than the official record for Van Alstyne.

Rained here all night and is in the low 70s now and cloudy, may rain again. We needed it. Grateful for what we got.

100 yesterday in Denver for a new record high.
We seem to set more new records in each year.
The water shortage in the West is critical.
The Ute Mountain Ute's only got 10 percent of their water allocation last year from McPhee Reservoir (they're only source of water), and they are getting 25 percent this year.
They have a 7,000 acre corn farm that is a Tribal Venture.
They are counting on that for a large percent of their income.
All farmers and ranchers are getting hit hard.

Wayne:

114 was a new record for out here. But it hit 115 about 20 minutes after I posted. And it is so dry. There are burnt hay bailers and hay field all up and down the highway.

I’m afraid to do any bush hogging. Hit a rock, make a spark, and everything is like gasoline right now.

Coach,
Gosh!!!That is hot!!! You're smart by not doing the outside stuff for fear of starting a blaze but also,I don't think it is a good to be out in the heat anyway.

Just think,in about 6 months we will (at least I will) be thigh deep in snow.

Beginning of Sept.,when I am up at the cabin in Maine,I will be in sleet. Just thinking about it,I hope makes you feel cool.

Wayne:

We went to Maine about this time last year.

My Bride has searched the Internet every day since looking for a place to buy up there so we would have a place to go during the Summer to escape this heat.

We were going to go back to look at some properties but the diesel prices kept us from going. If they ever come back down, we are hooking up the trailer, loading the dogs, and heading back up there.

Went out with a lobsterman in Bar Harbor years ago.
That is work, but it was a great day and educational.
I like Maine in the summer, and would like the Florida Keys in the winter.
But.....
Hard to maintain 2 houses and transit between them.
