Warren,
Nice breeds.

Mine wasn't any of the above, she was a Lab/Shep mix. I called her Luvvy so I guess he was a "luvvy" breed.

Had her almost 15 years.

Lucky man. I never had a dog that lived past 10 years. No more dogs. At least for a while. We travel too much.

I rather lost my Randall knives than my dog, and that says a lot laugh
He is 12 years and almost 5 months. He is reaching the end and this week we were afraid, that he needed to be put down. But the blood results indicated, that he can live a while longer with a good quality of life. But only with the proper medication.

Our dog before this one was 13 years and 3 months old, when we had to put him to sleep. We got him from an animal shelter, when he was three. One time somebody try to break in our old house. This dog never barked when somebody came in the house. He was in the living room and the mother****** who got in to the house, probably are still traumatized, when they found him in the living room.
They probably saw him, closed the door as fast as they could and left. This dog couldn't open it and tried to chew his way true the living room door. When we came home, the back door was left open by these criminals. They probably didn't had the time to close it, as they were running scared laugh Fortunately our dog was OK and nothing was missing. I would have loved to see there reaction when they spotted the dog.

For dog lovers having to put your friend down is just heart breaking. I had to put one down in July and another in Oct. Broke my heart and I am not over it yet. One was going on 17 and the other was going on 14. Both were big dogs but, they lived good lives. Had both of them creamated and they are with me still.

I know the feeling... I let my dog also be cremated when the time comes and we did the same with our other dog.

Thanks for all the recent posts. I never imagined the response on a dog named topic but it's good to see that people love their pets. After I literally spent many thousands of dollars to keep a Golden Retriever alive dying of cancer. Afterwards, I found others do the same. They become your family and you'd do the same thing for a family member. The 7x rule sucks.
Get a parrot, you can pass them down to your kids.

I love my dog and would spent just like you, thousands of dollars if necessary. My dog would give his life for us if needed. If somebody would attack us, he will protect our lives, even if it meant his own death. I call that a REALLY good friend! He is always glad to see us, and is like you said a family member. The 7x rule sucks indeed big time!!!

I have one animal that will outlive us all. He is only three, I have to put him in our last will laugh
